From the time of enslavement to today, Black women have played an important role in leading change across Kentucky.
Be inspired as you color and learn about dynamic women such as Elmer Lucille Allen, Mattie Jones, Willa Brown Chappell, Alice Allison Dunnigan and many more trailblazing Black women that helped shape Kentucky!
Illustrated by artist Jaylin Stewart, Created by Hannah L. Drake & Josh Miller
The coloring book was released in September 2024 with a book signing at Farmington, along with collaborative mural painting with Jaylin Stewart. The murals – painted at Farmington and Alberta O. Jones Park with community members – feature illustrations from the coloring book and will be included in an upcoming (Un)Known Project art exhibit.
